How to Combat AI Overwhelm Amidst Endless New Updates

OpenAI just released a suite of new goodies...

- GPT 5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna
- ChatGPT Work
- ChatGPT Sites (beta)
- The new ChatGPT desktop app
- Unified plugins across ChatGPT & Codex
- Multi-tab and enterprise auth in the Browser

I follow a variety of AI newsletters and social accounts that keep me up to date on many of the major AI releases, and even then, there's still so much I miss.

There's so much to try on for size, let alone spend time mastering... only for a new tool to crop up and claim the spot of "most superior tool on the market".

The overwhelm is real, and it seemingly only compounds the deeper you zoom in on the latest & greatest in AI. It's exciting and noisy.

Whether this is the right strategy or not matters little to me - what I've been doing to keep my head above water is:

- skim the highlights
- see what my eye gravitates toward or what's most relevant to what I already invest my time/focus into within AI
- check for any major updates that may contradict current systems/tools (not an improvement for the sake of improvement, but an actual critical gap or bug fix)
- keep investing time and energy into my current tech stack (Claude, Perplexity, and Loveable are the heavy hitters for me on the daily)
- breathe, go slow, read the details, and push against the global momentum to run at full speed... easier said than done

Start small, take consistent steps, and tackle one new thing at a time. I'd rather make meaningful progress with one tool or system for a period of time, than dip my toes in a million buckets all at once. Just my preferred method, but it helps to combat the nervous system stress that endless updates create for me.
